Natural. Powerful. Healing.

… is what Reiki is to me. It is light, colour & frequency. It is my first healing love and it saved my life.

- April Walker

What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-like a ray of sun and key like the key to a door) is a method of stress reduction and relaxation that was developed in Japan based on the idea that life energy flows through all living things. When your life energy is high, you feel strong, confident, centered, and less likely to become ill. When your life energy is low you can feel tired, more easily affected by stress and less resistant to illness. Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method that everyone can use. A Reiki treatment is a way of increasing your life energy.

Why Choose Reiki?

Reiki is Deeply Relaxing! Many people fall asleep or go into a meditative state. Reiki is the quickest way to find this quiet place within, where healing occurs and where you can hear the inner messages of your inner wisdom. Reiki is always positive and heals to your highest good. Reiki is an effective stress management tool. In addition to physical, emotional and and attitudinal healing, Reiki often becomes a path to personal and spiritual growth. Reiki blends with, and facilitates, all other treatments, both traditional and complimentary. Reiki is done fully clothed, and for most people, this provides great comfort and safety. Reiki, although very powerful, is very gentle. It is comfortable and safe for everyone, from newborns to pregnant women, to the elderly and those in hospice. Reiki helps you feel balanced, peaceful and energised!

How does Reiki feel?

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results. There is no physical manipulation or diagnosis to receive a Reiki treatment just a willingness to give it a try. Most state that treatments help reduce stress and provide a deep sense of relaxation and wellbeing. Reiki can help reduce pain, balance anxiety and facilitate personal growth. The benefits of multiple sessions are similar to examples of meditation or yoga practice, in that the effects of Reiki are cumulative. One session can often work wonders and repeated regular sessions can change your life in positive ways. Acute conditions tend to balance faster than chronic conditions. Reiki can be received in private, in-person sessions, in group sessions and via distant sessions (which are just as powerful, you’ll be amazed!)

“Reiki Master April comes to the rescue again. Going out of my mind with after-surgery pain, having taken the complete combination of physician prescribed morphine, oxycodone, and Tylenol together could do nothing to stifle the intense mind-boggling pain week-after surgery that sprang up. Why do I forget April is at hand for any life cure? A late-night email begging her assistance brought such relief, I felt a new person within the hour. I thank you, and my husband thanks you. Perhaps you can offer regular Reiki remote health visits; a monthly scanning and setting to rights of any physical ailments that plague us. So used to feeling not-up-to-par at times, we forget that we can be Reikied back to good health. So worth it. Thank you for sharing your gift.”

Why learn Reiki?

The ability to do Reiki is innate within everyone. By taking a Reiki class, an attunement is given to the student which is like turning on a switch that in effect turns on one's Reiki energy. After that, Reiki healing energy is automatically available. Because of this, Reiki is very simple to learn and is taught in a weekend class. Self-treat with Reiki for your own SELFCARE AND STRESS MANAGEMENT.

“Today my gratitude is for you for being my Reiki teacher, April. I gave Reiki to my 92 year old mother-in-law. She is in hospice care and is bed ridden. It was magical and I actually got goosebumps during the experience. She said “Oh, your hands are so hot!” I also rubbed essential oils on her as I rubbed her neck and feet and put black tourmaline and amethyst on her neck. She fell asleep with a smile on her lips. Thank you for teaching me to heal others.”

Can Reiki be done at a distance?

Yes, Reiki, similar to prayer, works at remotely very well. The practitioner will connect you with the energy and use Byosen Scanning to determine where your body needs Reiki.  April has effectively worked with people at a distance globally with great success. Distance Reiki, or remote Reiki, is a healing session that is given while you are (typically) in your own home and your Reiki Practitioner is somewhere else. You do not have to attend in person to receive the benefits of Reiki healing. Some clients describe a tingling or warm feeling in different parts of their bodies. Others just experience a deep state of relaxation. Because everything is made of energy, we can connect through space and time. Clients can receive deep healing through distant sessions. In fact, sometimes the sessions are better because the clients can relax more in their own homes.

How many sessions will I need?

Some people only require one or two sessions per a particular issue while others need quite a few before they notice anything. Many of us have sessions regularly for stress reduction and energy maintenance. We rate how a person feels when they come in and when they leave, consistently they feel better after a session.

Reiki is a great tool for anyone looking for a modality that moves energy through places one would only hope to imagine. During Reiki classes, multiple times was I amazed at the power of and consciousness that goes into the work. This practice, I believe, has the power to change the world.

A New York Times article about Reiki

In 1995, The New York Times reported that Dr. Oz, a leading heart surgeon, author, and talk show host, allowed the use of Reiki during open heart surgeries and heart transplant operations. “Reiki has become a sought-after healing art among patients and mainstream medical professionals. (…) ”Alternative medicines, Dr Oz says, deal with the body’s energy, something that traditional western medicine generally does not. We’re beginning now to understand things that we know in our heart are true but we could never measure. As we get better at understanding how little we know about the body, we begin to realize that the next big frontier in medicine is energy medicine. It’s not the mechanistic part of the joints moving. It’s not the chemistry of our body. It’s the understanding for the first time how energy influences how we feel.” You can find the original article here.
